Father Thomas Price Legacy Society

The Diocese of Raleigh Catholic Heritage Society, now known as the Father Thomas Price Legacy Society, was established in 1998 to honor the Christian generosity of those who have invested in the future of the diocese—its parishes, schools, or ministries—through a bequest in their will or another form of planned gift, such as a trust.

In 2013, the Catholic Heritage Society was renamed the Father Thomas F. Price Catholic Heritage Society, which is now known as the Father Thomas Price Legacy Society, to honor Father Price and the many meaningful works he helped establish or contribute to during his lifetime. In 2019, The Foundation of the Diocese of Raleigh assumed coordination and promotion of the society.

Those who include a parish, school, or any diocesan ministry in their estate plans demonstrate a deep commitment to preserving and advancing the mission of the Church for future generations.

By sharing your legacy intentions, you allow Bishop Luis R. Zarama and The Foundation the honor of expressing gratitude to you for your generous intentions in continuing the mission of Jesus Christ on Earth.

Does the Fr. Thomas Price Legacy Society offer recognition for those who make a legacy gift?

The Father Thomas Price Legacy Society honors those who have included a parish, school, the Diocese of Raleigh, or any diocesan institution in their estate plans.

If you have arranged for such a legacy gift, we would be grateful to know of your intentions. You may notify us by completing the Father Thomas Price Legacy Society registration form. Your notification allows us to express our appreciation of your Catholic generosity and include you in special expressions of gratitude, such as an annual birthday card from Bishop Zarama, an invitation to the annual Mass and reception, and semi-annual updates on diocesan and Foundation activities.

This year’s Mass and reception in honor of our legacy benefactors, hosted by Bishop Zarama, will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, beginning with Mass at 11:30 a.m. at The Catholic Center in Raleigh.

Please note that your notification is non-binding and revocable. A planned gift may include a will, trust, beneficiary designation, or permanent endowment that will result in a Catholic entity within the geographic boundaries of the Diocese of Raleigh receiving a monetary or tangible benefit from your estate.

Father Thomas Frederick Price Prayer

Heavenly Father, You so inspired Father Thomas Frederick Price with love for You and zeal for the Gospel that he dedicated his life to serve You and Your Church, first in North Carolina, his home state, and then in the foreign missions. Grant that by his example we may grow in holiness and into a deeper union with Our Lord Jesus Christ. Help us to be authentic witnesses of the Gospel and proclaim the Holy Name of Jesus throughout the Diocese of Raleigh and to all the people and in all the places we are sent to love and serve.

If it be according to Your Will, glorify Your servant, Father Thomas Frederick Price, by granting the favor I (we) now request through his prayerful intercession (mention request here). I (we) make this prayer confidently through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, Amen.

Imprimatur: Most Rev. Michael F. Burbidge, Fifth Bishop of Raleigh
