Giving Thursday - Celebrating the Life & Legacy of Kaitlyn Lovett
Commemorating Kaitlyn Lovett: A Tribute to Five
Years of Lasting Impact
This Thursday, September 12, 2024,
marks a bittersweet milestone for the Immaculata
Catholic School community and the family of
Kaitlyn Lovett. It is her heavenly birthday and a
poignant moment, as it has now been five years
since her sudden and heartbreaking passing in
August 2019. Though Kaitlyn is no longer with us,
her spirit and love for her students continue to
resonate deeply in the hearts of those who knew
her.
Kaitlyn was more than a teacher;
she was a bright and kind-hearted educator who
embodied faith, kindness, and an unwavering
enthusiasm for her students and the entire
Immaculata family. Her fourth-grade classroom was
filled with joy, curiosity, and the warmth of her
care. Her students were her pride and joy, and she
dedicated herself fully to nurturing their growth,
both academically and spiritually.
The
loss of Kaitlyn just as the 2019 school year was
beginning left the Immaculata community
devastated. In the wake of this tragedy, her
family, led by her uncle Rich Barry, sought to
honor her beautiful legacy in a way that would
continue to impact students for years to come. The
result was the
Kaitlyn Lovett Memorial Scholarship
Endowment, established to support incoming fourth-grade
students who exemplify the same admirable
qualities that Kaitlyn lived by—faithfulness,
kindness, effort, and a love for Immaculata.
This
year, on Kaitlyn’s heavenly birthday, we gather to
celebrate not only the remarkable woman she was
but also the impact she continues to have through
the
Giving Thursday event held in her memory.
Giving Thursday
is a time for all of us to reflect on Kaitlyn’s
life and provides an opportunity to contribute to
the scholarship fund that bears her name.
Each
gift to the Kaitlyn Lovett Scholarship Endowment
is more than a donation; it is an opportunity to
keep her memory alive and allow another student to
live out the values Kaitlyn so wonderfully
embodied. As we navigate this fifth year of her
passing, we invite you to join us in honoring
Kaitlyn by contributing to her memorial endowment.
Your generosity will ensure that Kaitlyn’s light
continues to shine brightly in the lives of
Immaculata students, providing support to future
fourth graders who will, in their own ways,
#liveforlovett.
We extend our heartfelt
gratitude to the entire Immaculata family for
allowing Kaitlyn’s legacy to live on. Together, we
keep her amazing spirit alive, and through each
act of kindness, we carry her light forward.
